I just realized that many people online—especially on YouTube—who keep telling us that Claude is better than ChatGPT in writing and almost everything else are not giving the full picture.

After spending nearly two months testing both AI models myself, I have come to a different conclusion.

In my opinion, Claude AI is only clearly better than ChatGPT when it comes to heavy coding tasks. If you are dealing with large codebases, long programming sessions, and highly technical workflows, Claude performs exceptionally well.

However, when it comes to writing, brainstorming ideas, summarizing information, research assistance, structured articles, and everyday use, I do not think Claude is automatically better than ChatGPT.

My Take: Claude AI is outstanding for intensive coding work, but the claim that it is superior to ChatGPT in every area does not match my personal experience after two months of testing.

Why I Changed My Mind

Like many people, I was influenced by countless YouTube videos and online discussions claiming that Claude had surpassed ChatGPT in almost everything.

But after using both tools consistently, I discovered that the reality is far more balanced than the headlines suggest.

  • Claude excels at handling complex coding tasks.
  • ChatGPT performs strongly in writing and structured content creation.
  • Both models are excellent research assistants.
  • The best choice depends on the task at hand.
  • Online opinions do not always reflect real-world usage.

The Problem With AI Comparisons

Too many people treat AI comparisons like sports rivalries, declaring one tool the winner in every category.

In reality, different AI models have different strengths, and users should test them personally before accepting broad claims from influencers.

The best AI is not the one with the loudest supporters—it is the one that actually helps you do your work better.

Final Thoughts

After two months of testing, my opinion is simple: Claude deserves praise for its coding abilities, but I do not believe it is universally better than ChatGPT.

If your work revolves around heavy programming, Claude may have an advantage. But for writing, creativity, and general productivity, ChatGPT remains one of the strongest AI tools available.

Before believing YouTube titles and social media debates, try the tools yourself. Your experience may tell a very different story.
