TECHNOLOGY — Every year, Apple launches a new iPhone, and millions of people line up to buy it. The iPhone 17 Pro is undoubtedly one of the most powerful smartphones available today. However, if I had to choose between the iPhone 17 Pro and a Samsung Galaxy flagship, I would choose Samsung Galaxy.
This isn't because the iPhone is a bad phone. Far from it. Apple builds some of the best smartphones in the world. But after comparing both ecosystems, Samsung offers features and flexibility that better match how I use a smartphone every day.
My Opinion: I choose Samsung Galaxy over the iPhone 17 Pro—not because Apple makes a bad phone, but because Samsung gives me more freedom, more features, and better value for the way I use technology.
More Freedom
One of the biggest reasons I prefer Samsung is flexibility. Android allows me to customize almost everything—from the home screen and widgets to default apps and multitasking.
I enjoy having more control over how my phone works instead of being limited to one approach.
Galaxy AI Is Extremely Useful
Samsung has invested heavily in Galaxy AI, introducing features that improve writing, translation, photo editing, note-taking, and productivity.
Many of these AI tools integrate naturally into everyday tasks and help users work faster. 0
Better Multitasking
Samsung's multitasking features remain among the strongest in the smartphone industry.
- Split-screen apps.
- Floating windows.
- Samsung DeX desktop mode.
- Advanced file management.
- Better productivity tools.
For users who work from their phones, these features can make a noticeable difference.
Charging and Battery
Samsung flagship phones generally offer larger batteries and faster wired charging than Apple's Pro models, making them attractive for heavy users who spend long hours away from a charger. 1
The Camera Is Excellent
Apple continues to lead in video recording, while Samsung is known for versatile camera hardware, including high-resolution sensors and strong zoom capabilities. Which is "better" depends on what you value most. 2
Value for Money
Samsung often includes features such as stylus support on Ultra models, advanced multitasking, broader customization, and extensive AI tools, giving many users more functionality for their investment. 3
The best smartphone isn't always the most popular one—it's the one that fits your needs.
Apple Still Deserves Credit
Apple remains outstanding in several areas, including long-term software support, smooth hardware and software integration, video recording quality, performance, and its tightly connected ecosystem of devices. For people already invested in Apple's ecosystem, the iPhone 17 Pro is an excellent choice. 4
Conclusion
I choose Samsung Galaxy over the iPhone 17 Pro because it better suits the way I work and use technology. The freedom to customize, powerful AI features, advanced multitasking, fast charging, and productivity tools make Samsung my preferred smartphone. That doesn't mean the iPhone 17 Pro isn't excellent—it simply means the better phone depends on what matters most to you.
